Last week’s latest update to CCHP’s Telehealth Policy Finder included a brand-new feature: a category specifically for federally qualified health centers’ (FQHC) Medicaid fee-for-service policies. Funded by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) through funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the new section includes the many unique rules that apply to FQHCs that sometimes effect their ability to utilize telehealth.
While telehealth may eliminate issues such as distance barriers, providers still face a number of policies that they will have to navigate as they provide services across state lines. In the first webinar for CCHP’s Fall 2022 State Policy Webinar Series, our panel of expert speakers will discuss various issues that providers should be aware of when they provide services in another state.
Today the Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) is releasing its bi-annual summary of state telehealth policy changes for Fall 2022. Additionally, we are also making available a summary chart showing where states stand on many key telehealth policies, as well as an infographic highlighting our key findings. The most current information in CCHP’s online policy finder tool may be exported for each state into a PDF document. The Fall 2022 summary report adds in two new jurisdictions, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands, and covers updates in state telehealth policy made between July and early September 2022.
On Thursday, October 13th from 12-1:30pm, the Coalition held its yearly Legislative/Policy briefing. In addition to covering recently adopted Medi-Cal policies, the briefing will provide context on how state policy has evolved over the years, remaining gaps between commercial and Medi-Cal patients, other consumer issues, as well comparisons in regard to other state and federal policy developments. A variety of issues such as those related to cross-state licensure and impacts of the recent Supreme Court ruling on abortion will be discussed by expert panelists with a history of telehealth engagement at both the state and federal levels.
