CONNECT for Health Act of 2019 – HR 4932 & S 2741

The intent of this bill is to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to expand access to telehealth services, and for other purposes. The CONNECT Act’s findings section concludes that because it has been found that health care providers can furnish safe, effective, and high-quality health care services through telehealth, and that telehealth can also help with workforce shortages and contribute to the expertise of health care  Workers through specialty consultations, barriers to the use of telehealth in the Medicare program should be removed.

CMS Drops 2019 Telehealth Fact Sheet for Medicare

CMS recently released its 2019 Medicare Fact Sheet for Telehealth Services which outlines what services the program will reimburse if delivered via telehealth. The 2019 Fact Sheet outlines the changes that were made by two pieces of legislation passed in 2018, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 and the SUPPORT Act.
